Looking back now my immunity started getting worse right after Emilia was born. But last 6 months I got to the point I was sick with nasty cold at least 1x a month. I would literally catch every single virus Emilia would come home from her nursery. The last dot came over the last some when I couldn’t get rid of strep throat for 5 weeks! After taking 4 rounds of antibiotics my body felt super weak and I was also mentally very tired.

So I decided to put some extra effort into strengthening my immunity.

There are many many things you can to in order to improve your immune system. After some intensive reasearch here is what I decided to follow for 6 months:

  1. Chlorella

img_9023Chlorella contains a compound called ‘chlorella growth factor’, which has been shown in research to promote normal cell growth and boost the immune system. It’s commonly used to supplement diets of those regularly suffering from colds and flu.
In addition, chlorella has been credited with improving digestion, enhancing mental clarity, and promoting a healthy pH balance in body tissue.

2 Oyster mushroom powder with probiotics

Oysters are the highest natural source of zinc, 10 times higher in fact than the next source, which is red meat. The digestive tract is where about 70% of your immune system resides. Taking a proactive stance on core health by adding a daily probiotic supplement is important not only to support your immune system, but also to help maintain good overall health.

3 Green smoothies done in Nutribullet

img_8962Every afternoon I try to make a green smoothie. My favourite one is Kale, Pineapple, Cucamber, Ginger, Lemon= super high in vitamin C which is a key vitamin helping to fight the common cold viruses. Nutribullet claims it makes the nutrients in fruits and veggies easier digestible.

4. Exercise

Considerable amount of research showing that regular, moderate exercise enhances the immune sysimg_8889tem.

So besides my regular intake of yoga practice and short runs, walks and swimming I also decided to do a strength training 2x week with a personal trainer to simply shake up my body a bit.

Emilia had last 2 weeks super nasty cold. I was sneezed and coughed at multiple times a day. I was convinced I would get sick. For several days I was a little bit more tired and felt like like my body was fighting something but it never turned into any other symptoms!

My immunity concoction medicine seems to be working and I only have been following my recovery plan for 2 months! YAY!
